How to write a product price so customers do not ask "how much?"

Last updated: 2026-10-24

Write the price in the first place the customer looks: on the photo or in the first line of the caption, in Iraqi dinars with clear numbers, together with the delivery fee and the options you have. That way the customer knows before they ask, "how much?" comes up less, and it is easier for them to order.

Why customers ask "how much?"

They ask because they cannot see the price. Every question means waiting, and some customers do not wait, they move to another page that shows the price.

Where to put the price

  • On the photo itself, in small clear text that does not cover the product.
  • In the first line of the caption, before the long text.
  • In the story when you show the product.
  • In the store next to the product, so you do not type it every time.
  1. On the photo itself
  2. In the first line of the caption
  3. In the story
  4. In the store, next to the product

How to write it

  • Write a clear number in Iraqi dinars, like 25,000 IQD.
  • Use the same format for all your products.
  • If the price is for a specific unit, say it: a piece, a box, 50 ml.
  • If there is a discount, write the new and the old price clearly.
  • Do not write the price in dollars unless you really sell in dollars, and always make the currency clear.

Avoid

  • Price in DM
  • 25?
  • 25$ or 25k

Better

  • 25,000 IQD
  • 25,000 IQD per piece
  • Perfume 50 ml: 25,000 IQD

What to write with the price

  • The delivery fee and time.
  • The colours and sizes you have.
  • The quantity left, if it is low.
  • How to pay, for example: cash on delivery.

When the price depends on the option

Some products change price by size or volume. An example for illustration only: a 50 ml perfume at one price and a 100 ml perfume at another. Write the price of each option next to it, and do not write one price that confuses the customer.

Common mistakes

  • Writing "price in DM".
  • Replying "come to DM" instead of writing the number.
  • Changing the price and leaving old posts with the old price.
  • Writing a price with no currency.

How Tisawag helps

In a Tisawag store every product shows its price, options and photo, so the customer sees the price before ordering. Each option (size, colour or volume) has its own price. If you change a price from the dashboard on your phone, the change shows in your store within moments. And every product has a direct link you can send in your reply to any message.

Common questions

Should I write the price in dollars or dinars?
Write it in the currency you sell in and make it clear. In a Tisawag store prices are in Iraqi dinars.
Can I change the price after posting?
Yes. In the store you change it from the dashboard and it shows within moments. For old Instagram posts, edit them or add a comment with the new price.
Should I write the price inside the photo?
Yes, in small clear text in a corner that does not cover the product.
What do I do if the customer asks anyway?
Send them the product link directly, so they see the price, the options and the photo and order by themselves.

No commitment and nothing to install. If you don't like it, we switch the store off at no cost.
